Y-FIGHT: Youth Fight against Power Abuse

This project addresses the persistent spread of gender-related power abuse and gender-based violence, increasingly amplified by the misuse of new technologies. Young women, non-binary youth, and vulnerable groups from refugee and minority communities are disproportionately exposed to these threats—often without the knowledge, support, or confidence to respond safely, especially when coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. To break these repeating patterns, the project strengthens both youth workers and young people, improving the quality and innovation of youth work in preventing and tackling power abuse. Its core aim is to better understand the roots and contexts of gender-related abuse and equip participants with practical tools to support diverse youth groups who experience it. By prioritising awareness-raising, stronger communication and relationship skills, and healthier emotional regulation—countering common conflict responses such as anger, frustration, and violence—the project fosters deeper inclusion and empowerment of vulnerable young people while building wider societal awareness. In practice, it exchanges effective prevention and intervention practices, introduces new tools and approaches to address gender violence, raises awareness of the power abuses young people face with special attention to vulnerable groups, and strengthens regional, national, and European alliances with organisations working to counteract gender-based violence and abuse.
